
Celebrating the Next Generation of Architectural Talent
BlueScope congratulates the chapter winners of the 2025 Emerging Architect Prize (EAP), announced by the Australian Institute of Architects as part of this year’s state chapter Architecture Awards.
The EAP recognises the exceptional contribution of early-career architects to architectural practice, education, design excellence and community engagement, and advances the profession’s role within the public arena. It shines a spotlight on individuals and collaborations who are shaping the future of the profession.
2025 Emerging Architect Prize – Chapter Winners:
- Australian Capital Territory: Mark Brook, MYMYMY Architecture
- New South Wales: Gabrielle Pelletier, Sam Crawford Architects
- Northern Territory: Maiya McKenna, Rossi Architects
- Queensland: Dr Kali Marnane, Urbis
- South Australia: Gabrielle Seymour, Baukultur
- Tasmania: Elizabeth (Liz) Walsh & Alex Nielsen, So. Architecture
- Victoria: Stephanie Kitingan, Jacqueline O'Brien & James Flaherty, Placement
- Western Australia: Emily Duncan, Woods Bagot
- International Chapter: Paul Mak, Populous
Jury citations for each prize recipient are available on the Australian Institute of Architects website.
The EAP highlights the dynamic and diverse voices contributing to the evolution of Australian architecture. “Each of these recipients demonstrates a strong commitment not only to design excellence but also to leadership and community impact,” said Michelle Gissel, Marketing Manager – Commercial, Civil & Industrial at BlueScope. “BlueScope is proud to support this prize that celebrates emerging talent and the important role architecture plays in shaping our shared environment.”
Each state chapter winner will now be considered for the 2025 National Emerging Architect Prize, to be announced at the Australian Institute of Architects National Awards night to be held in Canberra in early November 2025.
